A message from the publisher
In the spring of 2000, the NMLRA withdrew support for Muzzle Blasts Online and the electronic publication ceased adding content.
One of the founder's and current owner has chosen, at his personal expense, to maintain the content for the benefit of the blackpowder community.
Please enjoy.
Editor's Welcome
Welcome to the April/May issue of Muzzle Blasts Online. This issue's cover shows Lowell Gard's chunk gun and necessary shooting accessories, including a canvas ground mat. The railroad watch and lucky hat are optional, but highly recommended. The rifle is a .50 caliber built around a 48" x 1 1/4" tapered Goodoien barrel and a Chambers Late Ketland lock with a Davis trigger and a Jim Chambers White Lightning touch hole liner. Lowell gives pointers on shooting in a chunk gun match in "Chunk 101."
Also in this issue: Junior shooters are showcased in Sharron Smith's Territorial article; Eric Bye gives instructions and diagrams for making and old-time shooting box; and Maurice Taylor gives us a look at "A Fresh Horn".
